The objective of the seminar will be to prepare or construct an embu for participation in the afternoon taikai. Guidance and advice will be provided as necessary. For those that have already constructed an embu this will be an opportunity to practice and receive further instruction. I have provided an embu pack with this letter, which you can copy and distribute to your students.
Please note that this schedule is provisional and subject to change on the day, depending on number of participants. If participants are insufficient, the content and timing may be altered as necessary.
The provisional kumi embu categories will be:
|3 kyu and below||3 kyu and below|
|2-1 kyu||2-1 kyu|
|1 dan||1 dan|
|2 dan||2 dan and above|
|3 dan and above|
However, as is usually the case, these categories may be combined due to lack of entries (for example to 1 dan and above).
Please note that this is the preliminary to the European Taikai on October 17-19, 2003 in Paris. The categories are usually set as kyu grade (1st to 3rd), 1 dan, 2 dan, 3 dan and 4 dan and above. A maximum of 3 entries are allowed per country, so the top 3 from the BSKF taikai will be selected to participate.
Please remember to bring a packed lunch, as no lunch will be provided on the day. Lunch will be provided for technical committee members only.
Please reply by e-mail/phone to give me an idea of numbers of entries
If you have any queries please contact Chris Lloyd or me.
All bookings should be made via branch administrators.
